Despite massivesupport for these claims,suspicions are still beingharbored. China’s stance, they say, is not inline with the UN Convention on the Lawof the Sea (UNCLOS). This accusation isgroundless. China’s claims in the SouthChina Sea, including the sovereignty of theNansha Islands and the jurisdiction of waterssurrounding those islands, are based on historicalfacts and legal validity, and also havebeen recognized by many other countries.
